This is a fixed cage trap, no assembly required. Can be used with 1 or both doors open. Simply place the appropriate bait at the centre of the trip plate or at one end of the trap (if using 1 entry). Animals entering the trap stand on the trip plate, the drop down doors close immediately, trapping the animal. A small mesh size, along with a strong door locking system, prevents escape of the trapped animal. Strong and robust for everyday or professional use. The cage trap is made from zinc plated steel, then powder coated green for excellent rust protection. The slide up doors allow trapped cats or other animals to be easily transferred to another cage or box.

An excellent all round trap. Has caught hedgehogs, feral cats, possums and wekas(released) from day one. Home improvements to the design have been a plywood floor, rubber handles and most useful, a short flexible (40mm long) plasic tube to slide up and lock the two trigger rods, used when placing bait and positioning the doors.
This tube is slide downwards to arm the trip when ready

Great for possums
I purchased this trap (which arrived in 2 days) to catch rabbits and pigeons but have had little success. I managed to catch a number of starlings, blackbirds and hedgehogs so changed the "target species" to possums. I didn't think we had a possum problem but using carrot as bait, I have caught 2 possums in the last 2 nights. This is a great trap, easy to set and I have no worries about catching our cats (who actually do a good job in catching the rabbits!)

Mesh is small enough to hold the average rat.
Trap is big enough to catch possums easily.
With doors each end, you can 'prop' the doors open so that trap-shy animals can walk through and get used to the contraption... then after a while you can set the trap and ... Bingo, next visit the pest is caught!
Pretty happy with the trap. Not too heavy to lug around, small enough mesh to hold smaller pests, but big enough to be able to shoot relatively easily, trap is easy to set up and trips just like it should.
